Spring has sprung here in Utah. For family home evening, we planted flowers.

Kricket made me this wreath for my front door (love it) when she was here for the baby shower. It is perfect for spring and the new arrival of a pink little girl at our house.

This is my friend Heather's son. His name is Dalton and he has two sisters and no brothers... He and Bradley are a month apart in age and Dalton refers to Bradley as his brother. They get their trucks out daily and play for hours hualing dirt, rocks, and each other around. They weren't asked to sit like this for the picture. They were watching Dalton's Dad plant flowers and this is how we found them. So nice to have good friends!

Some Ellie facts:

- She is a great sleeper! She will go 4-6 hours between feedings and sometimes even more at night.

- She is not a morning person and does not like to be awake before 10 in the morning. We opened the blinds to let some light in and she covered her eyes with her arm and continued to sleep.

- She rarely cries and seemso content to just watch her brothers.

- She loves to hear people sing and will sit very quiet when I sing to her.

- Her brothers are more adoring that I ever thought possible. She will want for nothing- and I feel for the poor boys who want to date her with her brothers around.

- At her 2 week checkup she was almost 10 lbs. She was 89% for height and 86th for weight.

Our sweet little girl is just what our family needed! We feel like we are complete- and feel so blessed to have a happy healthy little girl in our lives...

Ryan ended up having to work on his birthday and so we started the celebration on Monday. We took the boys bowling and to lunch- which was lots of fun! Tuesday night we invited Ryan's brother Gary and his family and some of our neighbors over for cake. I saw a cake in the Taste of Home magazine that I thought I could pull off and we gave it a whirl. It ended up looking great and tasting pretty darn good too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!

I feel so blessed to have so many sweet valentines in my life. My boys and Ryan were so fantastic this year. Ryan brought home some tulips (my favorite) and we spent a lazy Sunday enjoying the day together. We did take some time to dip strawberries in chocolate and take them around to the boys primary teachers. It was just a great day. The boys all dressed up for church with their pink ties- so handsome!

We took a trip to Idaho and decided to have a birthday get together for Braldey while we were there. I told him of our plans and he began to tell everyone that he was going to have a fake birthday party. He was so excited to get to take the gifts home with him even though it was just his fake birthday. We ended up reserving a big room at Craigos and had a great time with Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Garth- Tom, Kricket, Annie and Max- Grandma Marge, Grandpa Grant, Jeff and Greg. Thanks for coming everyone!!

Basketball 2010

Josh started his first year of basketball and is having so much fun! He is great with the ball and is still deciding which hand he wants to shoot with. He is left handed but we weren't sure which hand he would use when he was younger because he always seemed to do fine no matter which hand he was using. He dribbles with his right hand, and says that it feels fine shooting with either hand. If he practices with both hands and uses his heigth, he is going to be an amazing ball player!

Student of the Month

Josh was named student of the month in his class for the month of February. He has improved so much in the last few months, and we are super proud of him. He has a great teacher and we are very thankful for that! He played it cool through the whole thing. And his face in the pictures pretty much sums up that he thought it was so uncool to have his mom there waving and taking pictures. On a side-note, he sure is tall compared to the other kids considering he is one of the youngest kids in his grade... My little boy is growing up!

We had Ryan's brother Gary and his family over on New Years Eve to celebrate with us. The kids had a great time playing playstation and watching Uncle Gary's motorcycle DVD. We really enjoy having family close to spend holidays with- and the kids love to have cousins around! On New Years Day Ryan and Gary took the kids sledding. If you look at Bradley in the picture, he is wearing his swimming goggles. I am not sure why he thought he needed them, but he insisted on it. Some things are just not worth the fight- and he looked pretty cute with them on anyway...

Merry Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas. Ryan was able to be home with us for Christmas Eve and

most of Christmas day. The boys could hardly contain their excitement on Christmas Eve. We did our traditional homemade pizza and snacks and watched the story of the birth of Christ.

It was such a fun year with the boys being old enough to enjoy giving gifts to one another and understanding what was going on.

Christmas morning the boys woke us up just after seven and from there it was a tornado of wrapping paper and squeals of excitment. Bradley screamed like a girl every time he opened

a gift because he was so happy. It was so much fun for Ryan and I.

Christmas dinner went fabulous- it was nice to have a quiet dinner with our little family. Ryan taught Josh how to carve a turkey and the boys took turns doing "cheers" to everyone around the table. We were able to sit back, look around and realize how blessed we are.

One of my favorite things is to watch little boys lay on the floor like this and drive their trucks around. Bradley does it often- he has such a great imagination... He has always loved semi trucks and his ultimate happy times are when Ryan gets out his expensive ones that he is not usually able to play with. The last time Ryan had it out, Bradley played with it for most of the day and then Ryan had to go to work so he told Bradley to tell the truck good-bye for a while. Bradley cried like he was losing his best friend.

Bradley was in the cart at target- Ryan had let him get it. The annoying one that has the big double seat on the front. They are like steering a bus, and they boys only sit in them for the first 30 seconds. Bradley climbed up on the side and was balanced in an awkward position.
Then he says, "Hey mom, I think I am cool.... That's cause I am."

A few days later we were in the mall and he was looking at the different mannequins in the windows. There were some very bright pink ones in one of the windows and he says, "They sure think they are cool, huh mom."

Last night in the shower Zack let a gas. With three boys in the shower- it is their ultimate entertainment. This time though, it sounded a little different and Josh said, "what was that?"
Zack responded, "It's a funny squeaky sound..." in his best old lady Christmas Vacation voice.

On a recent trip to Idaho, Grandpa Garth was making breakfast for the boys with brown and green eggs that he got from their neighbors. Zack asked why the eggs were not white and how they got to be brown and green. Grandpa Garth replied that Jesus made them that way. He said that it is like people- some of us are black and some of us are white. Grandpa then asked the boys why they thought some people are black and some are white... After thinking for awhile, Josh said, "I know how people get black- they get born in Florida!"

Fall Happenings...

Josh was an awesome soccer player! He scored every game this year- usually 2-3 goals per game. He was very fast uses both feet- which made him pretty amazing. We never knew which foot he was going to kick with...

Zacked loved to play soccer for about the first 10 minutes. Then he was done. He was good, and would usually score right away and then decide that he had done his job and was ready to view the rest of the game from the side.

Bradley was usually very pleasant even though he sat through soccer four nights a week...

While we were in Idaho, Josh helped Grandpa Garth move cattle. He had some major skills when it came to being a cowboy...

With the cold air moving in, the boys began their coughing season. Every year is the same, they cough for weeks without other symptoms. The breathing treaments help out lots. We are just happy to be away from Florida where it was year round because of their mold allergies!

For family home evening we made carmel apples. The boys really got into it and had a great time! It is so much fun when Ryan is home to do these things with us...

He asked if he could build something and I told him if he found something in there that he knew how to build and if we had the stuff to do it, then sure, go for it. On our recent trip to Idaho we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast in our haste to get home to smooch on baby Max. Josh did his duty of getting his buckle undone and passing out the food to his brothers. As he handed the food to Zack he said, "Careful Zack, this is hot. Not HOT like Mom is HOT, but the other hot..."
I think he's a keeper.

This cake turned out to be harder then it looked. I tried a new frosting, which was a bad idea and had the wrong size tip for the frosting... Zack told me I did an "okay job for a mom".

until 10:00 this morning. Zack wondered if I REALLY needed to shower or if we could just go. I reminded him that even if I didn't shower, we still had to wait until 10:00 to go to school. He loved every second of it. Bradley was very upset that he didn't get to stay but next year he will get his turn. Zack did so well and really enjoyed having one of his best friends from our neighborhood, Jayden, there with him. He draws pictures for her everyday (has for weeks)- strewn with hearts and flowers and all things lovey- such a ladies man.

We took the boys to San Francisco for to do an overnight with Ryan. It is one of our favorite places to go, and the boys were so excited! Every time we go, there is something new to see- and this trip was not a disappointment. We went to Ghirardelli square and to peer 39 for dinner. Being there on the weekend made it even better because of all of the entertainment!

Josh and Kendri are excited to be on the same team...

Josh and Zack started soccer. Unfortunately they are in different age groups so they are on different teams. That means we have soccer four nights a week. I guess next year will be worse when Bradley starts, so I may as well enjoy this year. Josh is amazingly better then he was last year- much more agressive and so stinking fast! Zack is still getting the hang of things, but has scored goals at the two games he has had so far and is quickly figuring things out.

Ryan and I went this week to get Utah driver's licenses. It was the last thing that we still had left from Idaho. So I guess now we are official Utards...
On a side note: if anyone moves to Utah and gets a driver's license, the test they have you take is open book! (Unless you are a first time driver.)

We started off our trip to Idaho with a quick trip to the cabin. Got a little R&R, fishing and some fun times playing with Annie, Gram and Grandpa and Nola's family.

Happy Birthday Jarom!

We went to visit my friend Alyssa and her two kids- Jarom (6) and Blair (2)- in Shawnee Kansas. We decided last minute that we should take a road trip to Nauvoo. I am not sure if we were crazy or just really brave, but we had a great time! The drive was five hours each way. On the way to Nauvoo, we stopped in Independence Missouri and at Liberty jail. We stayed the night in Keokuk and got an early start the next morning to see Carthage jail. After that, we went to Nauvoo and were overwhelmed with the amount of things there were to do! We ended up going all day without stopping and there were still so many things we wanted to see. We ended up staying another night and spending most of the next day in Nauvoo as well. After the long drive back to Shawnee, we were all ready for a good nights sleep. The next night we went to a great restraunt called the T-Rex cafe for Jarom's birthday party. It was a very cool place and the boys had so much fun there!

Josh lost his first tooth! He made it just in time to lose it before school got out. He was so upset that he was the only one in his class that had not lost a tooth yet. He spent endless hours wiggling it... I am so happy to see him with his hands out of his mouth again!

The tooth fairy came through with flying colors- and everyone was pleased. Though Josh asked me flat out if I was the tooth fairy- a special thanks to the kids in his class that ruined it. I informed him "if you don't believe, you don't receive".

So, due to me not keeping a journal besides this blog, I have to make this post to remind myself of things my boys do. It is fairly disgusting, so if you aren't up for it- stop reading now!

Two nights ago Josh waited a little too long to come in to use the bathroom- he was outside playing with his friends... He has a bad habit of doing this- one that I am constantly on him about. He frequently hides his undies with "skids" from me to avoid the lecture... Well, on this occasion, he was even later then usual and ended up getting his mess all over the toilet, rug, floor, and shower curtain. He even managed to get it on Bradley. So, I stick the three of them in the shower and get busy on cleanup duty. Then I hear it:
Josh- Hey Zack, clean my bum for me!
Zack- NO WAY!!!
Josh- ummmmm..... I will give you a dollar if you do.
Zack- OKAY!!

Last Saturday we took the boys to Supercross in SLC. We had so much fun! It rained for most of the day, so we were pretty soaked, but the weather was dry for the races.

We took the boys down to the pit before the races and they enjoyed looking at the bikes, meeting some riders and Josh even got some pictures with the girls (which were wearing lots more clothes then usual thanks to the cold weather).

The races were fantastic- we had tickets on the second row up from the track (thanks Gary!).

On the last race, Chad Reed was in the lead for just over half of the race when Bubba Stewart passed him and ended up winning- though it was so close the whole time. So much excitement! Bradley is now sure that he wants to race when he grows up. When people would cheer for the racers, Bradley would stand up on Ryan's legs and lift his fisted hands into the air- acting like they were cheering for him. Keep dreamin' little buddy!

Hiking the Y

We decided to take the kids to hike up to the Y. I read about it online and it seemed easy enough. 1.2 miles each way- not too bad. What we didn't realize is how STEEP it was going to be! Everyone did really good until about half way up and then the boys decided that they were tired, their legs hurt and their feet ached. But we continued to the top where we stopped for snacks- we were so proud of out little guys! Lisa ended up carrying Bradley most of the way down on her back- but Josh and Zack took on the mountain like little mountain goats!

Easter

The day before Easter, we met Kricket and Tom with Annie at a local farm for some Easter fun. Unfortuantely it turned out to be fairly lame, but at least we had Annie to entertain us. The one thing at the farm that did excite the boys was the Star Wars display- though the men working there were a little "different".

Easter morning we had some happy boys- lots of candy, new PS2 games and lacrosse sticks.

We also made some tasty egg sandwiches for breakfast- Yummy!

We had some of our favorite friends visit this week. Tonia and Andre met us with their sweet girls to have some fun on Monday night. We went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving point and then out to dinner. We sure miss living down the road from them!

Yesterday we drove to Logan (USU) for the unveiling of a monument for the victims of a van accident the AG department had three and a half years ago. Ryan's best friend Brad was in the accident. Five months later we had our third little boy and named him Bradley after him.

It just happened that yesterday was Brad's 30th birthday. It was an emotional day- and the sculpture was beautiful. It had a granite background and nine copper sculptures- one for each of the men that died.

Guess who's three! We have been doing lots of partying! We went to Idaho and had a party with Grandma and Grandpa Gunderson- and Tom, Kricket and Annie . Then we came home Saturday morning to have a High School music party. The basketball cake turned out to be a little flat- but pretty awesome none the less... Such a big boy!

For six months I have been asking Bradley what kind of birthday cake he wants. Each time he says "I already told you, High School Musical!" I really wanted to do him something more little boyish. He has watched the show countless times with Zack and Josh though, and thinks he is so grown up already. About a month ago he added that he wanted a high school musical party at Tom and Jerry's house- which I finally figured out was Chucky Cheese. So, after months of trying to persuade him to do something else, we will be having a basketball cake with High School Musical plates and cups and going to Chucky Cheese. I am having a hard time with my baby turning three. I feel so old...

If I were king for a day, I would put a BAN on those carts with the car attached to the front. I would banish them from the earth! Then I would no longer have to push the stupid things through the store with my kids trying to kill each other in the front of it, pulling things off the shelves from the sides, and getting in and out, in and out, in and out.

valentine's party- part one...

We are having a party with Ryan's brother Gary and his family on Saturday. The boys are so excited and we spent the afternoon decorating the house... So fun!!

Josh also took time to do valentines for his class, but he did inform me that I am still his valentine. I will take it as long as I can get it... These days will be missed as they get older.

I sure say that a lot...

Influenza

Ryan had a week off from work... It was so exciting! There were so many things to do- he of course had honey-do's to catch up on, but besides that we wanted to have some fun!
We planned to go running, ride bikes, play games and just enjoy having him home.

Then we all got the flu...

Influenza usually starts suddenly and may include the following symptoms:
Fever (usually high)
Headache
Tiredness (can be extreme)
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Body aches
Diarrhea and vomiting (more common among children than adults)

The whole week was MISERABLE!!!

We are all much better now- just in time for Ryan to go back to work this morning....

Bradley was told he couldn't get down from the table until he drank his medicine- he sat there FORVER and then went to sleep...

I have a picture of Zack sucking his thumb during the ultrasound I had at 20 weeks. He came out and began sucking his thumb at once. He quickly became attached to one blanket and his thumb and he was a very content little boy. He slept well and was comforted easily by his thumb and his "blank" as he so lovingly called it. He was often nicknamed Linus as he tugged his blank around with him everywhere we went. When he turned four, I tried to get Zack to stop sucking his thumb- he could not do it with his blank around- and told me he would stop when he turned five. Now Zack is almost four and a half and I am worried that he will do damage to his teeth if he keeps sucking his thumb. I bribed him with a new star wars PS2 game if he would stop sucking his thumb. We had to put his blanket away (it was actually really hard on ME!). With his blanket gone, he never sucked his thumb again. So, yesterday he got his new game (see top picture). I never thought it would be quite so easy. My little boy is just a bit more grown up.

On New Year's Eve we jumped a plane (one Ryan happened to be flying) to Redmond, Oregon. We spent the night in his hotel, ate pizza and watched the ball drop with the boys. They all stayed up past midnight (amazing) and we all slept in the next morning. It was a nice hotel (with a great breakfast) but not much to see around town. We went for a little walk and enjoyed just being together. Ryan flew us back to SLC that afternoon. It was a great way to ring in the new year!

Idaho

We spent part of the week after Christmas in Idaho. The boys finally got to make their snowman "that is so tall you have to use a ladder" with Grandpa Garth. We went to movies with both Grandmas, spent time with Annie and had such a great time seeing everyone!

they had heard hooves on the roof the night before. As we went downstairs, they went straight to the cookie crumbs left on the plate. Everything after that was a haze of wrapping paper and excitement. I will really REALLY miss these magic filled Christmas days when the boys get older...

We had a very relaxed Christmas Eve. The boys spent the afternoon sledding and snowboarding and then we had lots of fattening finger foods while we watched "Christmas Vacation"- the edited version that we got from Amy's family... Thanks!

We read the story of Christ's birth from the scriptures and then watched the DVD of it. Bradley was really into it this year. He wanted to watch the movie over and over again...

The boys then opened their Christmas jammies- aren't they so cute!

We had such a great Thanksgiving with our family here in our new house. We had so much great food. Kricket even broke in the stove by running the turkey over... =)

We may have set off the fire alarm a few times, but in the end, everything turned out delicious!

Thanks to Tom and Kricket (Annie of course)- Grandma Bonnie- and Grandpa Garth for coming to start off the first of many great holidays in our home...

The week after we moved to our new house was a busy one. It was filled with making trips to Lowes, painting and hanging- lots of hanging... We pretty much worked around the clock for over a week in an attempt to have things put together for Lisa's family to come for Thanksgiving. Everyone pitched in and things came together well. We are very pleased with the how it turned out...

Zack was so grouchy the day we moved and did not want to be in this picture. I told him that if he didn't get in the picture I would paint his new bedroom pink- not blue like he had requested. Notice that he IS in the picture- but is NOT happy about it...

Moving day was stressful, but we had so much help from our families that we will pretty much owe them forever. Ryan's parents and brother Jeff spent the day helping make load after load into the trailer, and then drove down to Utah and helped us unload the trailer into the house. It was such a long day, but we were thrilled to be spending our first night in our new house...

Last night's family home evening consisted of a story from the Friend magazine telling of a boy who did secret santa projects each year for families in need. We talked of our own gratitude for what we have and how blessed we are. Zack thought for a moment and said, "mom- on Thanksgiving I was thankful for Jesus.... and pie." Could he be any more like his mother??

We are officially moved to Utah. All of our stuff made it safely and we are settled for the most part. The only thing we lost along the way was our computer- it has died each time we have moved and I think that its chance of revival this time is slim. I am bummed because I am only able to use Ryan's computer when he is not flying...
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving. My mom and dad came along with Kricket, Tom and Annie. They helped us to break in the new house... It was so nice to cook in a new kitchen.
I will update soon with pictures and stories, but for now, I am off to put up the Christmas tree. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
